With so many distinctive features, Larkspur offers all the best of Marin County. The community offers a reasonable commute to San Francisco without the fog that often troubles the county’s southern towns. With excellent schools, vintage homes, and many community events throughout the year, buyers quickly fall in love with the area.
 
Located just south of San Rafael, Larkspur is a primarily residential community with about 12,500 people as of 2019. Residents take pride in their town, as evidenced by well-maintained streets and properties, some of which boast classic Craftsman and Victorian-style architecture. The downtown area offers world-famous restaurants and plenty of boutiques and specialty shops, while the Marin Country Mart features live music and a farmers market on the weekends. There are also plenty of local hiking trails available, as well as a newly constructed bike tunnel from San Rafael.
 
The housing market in Larkspur is competitive. This is especially true when it comes to the period homes located near the downtown area. However, new properties are being constructed, and with so many desirable features, homes here are definitely worth the price tag.
